VK proposals for the future of Kirkby Town Centre

Vision Kirkby presents an initial proposal

Back in the summer of 2019, the new community group Vision Kirkby held two public consultation events and engaged on social media to gather ideas about what our community wanted to see at the heart of Kirkby. We took this feedback and, using the skills of our volunteers, have developed a proposed vision for the future of Kirkby Town Centre.

You can view this vision in your browser here or you can download a copy of the PDF here. We have also created a slideshow for easy viewing on mobile:

In addition, we have done some further research around the need for housing locally and have discovered that Knowsley Council’s plans to build houses on the former Kirkby College site, former All Saints school site and playing fields is unnecessary and counter-productive. You can view a summary of the report and download the full report. We have also created a slideshow for easy viewing on mobile:

We have created these two reports to stimulate discussion – not just about the active building site in the far north of the town centre where the new Morrisons will be – but about the whole Kirkby Town Centre from north to south and from east to west.

We welcome comments, critique and feedback, either through the comments on this page, Facebook, Twitter or via email at: contact@visionkirkby.org.uk
